Trent is away this week at camp in Idaho.  It is the first time he has been gone so far away, for so long, with no contact with us.  I am guessing he is having a blast though, as he is with a bunch of teens on a college campus.

Love the view of the temple by the river in the evening.

We have loved being in Idaho Falls.  The weather has been perfect to take walks everyday down by the river’s edge trail.  The kids loved getting to feed the ducks, and watch the falls.

26 Things List-July/August

I am now hosting the 26 things list on 2peas.  I am SO excited to get the privilege to do this.  So for those other photographers out there who are interested, here is how it works:

For those of you who haven't "played" before, a list of 26 words is posted as a thread on the Message Board. Take a photo, or two, or however many of each word--either what it is, or what you think of when you read it, or how you interpret it. There is no right or wrong way; this is an exercise to help you think outside the box and stretch your creative muscles. Once you've taken the shot, post it on the gallery or on your blog, and then put a link up on the 26 Things thread that will be called "26 Things now open!". {This post will get started on the first} You can post one shot, three...however many you want.
We will start on July 1, and end August 31. You can end sooner if you want. You don't have to finish if life gets in the way; we all are in the same boat. You don't have to post in order...these are in alphabetical order purely for convenience's sake. This is supposed to be fun, not brain surgery, so just go out, look at things a little differently, and have a good time.

So for those who want to join in, you are welcome to join us on 2peas photo board and play along.  Here is the list to get you started:

While we were in Florida it was a total treat to get to go to Cold Stone Creamery, so when we found one in Idaho Falls we had to go.  Cole LOVED it, as did all of us.  He danced around, then proceeded to eat a TON of “cweem”" as he calls it.  So yummy!

Relay for Life was this evening.  The kids had a blast getting to attend.  It is so nice getting to have fun, spending good times with family and friends while raising money for a good cause.

#176-June 25th

Tonight the boys had their second soccer game of the season.  There was so few kids that registered for the league this year that Trent and Blake are on the same team.  In the first game, Blake got a goal.  Trent made a goal in the game tonight.  So far their team has won both games.6-25

Kati, I am sure, will hate me for this one later, but it is so her lately-hair a mess, jeweled up, and gabbing about something.

#174-June 23rd

We took the kids to the Museum of the Rockies.  Cole kept us laughing by telling us the “Roars going catch us”, and then making his scared face.  He totally adored the dinosaurs though, and I am so glad we took him.

We spent the day in Yellowstone National Park, and just loved it.  We saw a bunch more animals than the last time we were here, different geysers, and Yellowstone Lake.

#172-June 21st

We went with my parents to take the kids to Virginia City and Nevada City today.  They had a blast seeing the old buildings, horses, and getting to ride the train.

And since I am so thrilled he is starting to like photography a bit, here is a picture Trent took while there.

And last but not least-our family photo for the day.

I just love the C’mon Inn.  It is such a nice hotel.  The kids, or course, especially loved the pool and hot tubs.  Cole has no fear.  He ran straight for the pool and jumped right in, even though he can’t swim at all.

We had a fabulous girl’s night out tonight.  If you get the chance to go see the movie, The Proposal, go see it.  It was hilarious!  Thank you wonderful ladies who were able to make it out, and hopefully those that weren’t able to will be able to make the next one.  :)

Today the base had a racecar simulator that we went and saw.  The kids just loved it.  It was sponsored by Del Monte, as a thanks to the military for all they do.  Thanks to Del Monte for a fun afternoon for my kids, and for them taking the time to thank the military.6-16-2

This is all four kids in it at once.   Blake and Trent had to work the pedals for Kati and Cole.

Don’t you love how sweetness can turn on a dime to total attitude, even at the age of seven.

Dan's World Famous steaks were for dinner tonight-YUM! The marinade just makes my mouth water just smelling it. We had a good dinner with nice friends, a perfect way to end the day.

#164-June 13th

The infamous "Blue Cookie". This cookie is Cole's new favorite. It is all he wants from sun up to sun down. So far we have tried all types of distractions-muffins, french fries, cake, and yet at the end he still asks for a blue cookie.

#163-June 12th

This evening our family spent the evening doing one of our favorite things-geocaching. We found six all over the downtown. This was one of the biggest ones we found; the smallest (called a nano) was about the size of a pencil top.

I made the kids blueberry muffins this morning, hoping to help with Cole's true desire to only eat cookies anymore. It helped until snack time when he started begging for cookies again.

6-10-1 I just love this wall mural we found downtown. I knew as soon as we saw it that I wanted to photograph it. The entire thing is incredible.

#159-June 8th

Dan and I got a date night out to Applebee's. Afterwards we went across the street to Broadwater Bay, and took some sunset pictures. I spent most of my summers as a teenager here.

#158-June 7th

Kati's 7th birthday was today. She decided she wanted dinner at Grandma's. We had a great dinner there, and brownies with frosting for dessert. She wanted to blow out a candle though, and my mom only had a number 2 candle.

#157-May 6th

I was working on editing this picture of Cole today. He just loves getting to go for walks.

#156-May 5th

Kati had her friends over for a slumber party for her seventh birthday. They all had a blast. I kept them busy making homemade lip gloss, beaded necklaces, and just playing.

#155-May 4th

Today Cole and I went a bit out of town to take a walk at "Berta"s house. That is what he calls Roberta. He got so mad at me when I wouldn't let him just run up to the bulls. He kept pouting and saying "I want cow." It was so hard to not just laugh out loud at him.

#154-June 3rd

Trent and his friends are working on a commercial with KRTV and a No Smoking group. Today they got a tour of the station, and did planning for the commercial. It should be getting filmed in a few weeks.

#153-June 2nd

Trent had to make a homemade rocket for his science class. We found the instructions for this one on the internet, and Dan and him built it.

#152-June 1st

This is the falls right in Great Falls. I can't remember the last time that they had the water running full blast through the dam like this.

#151-May 31st

I have been out taking pictures of our beautiful Montana since our weather has gotten so nice out. This is at Giant Springs, a Montana state park.
