We had to get tires on Dan’s truck before he leaves town, so we spent a few hours killing time at the mall. The local youth center had set up a kids play center for the holidays and the kids got to spend some time playing there the last day it was opened.

We currently have no upstairs bathroom. It needed a serious remodel and we got it gutted last week and are now starting to get it put back together. I can’t wait until it is done!

Angus has found a new way to get into trouble since we moved the table to the window for Dan’s lamp. Now to look out the window he just jumps right up onto the table. What a stinker!

For you Christmas Story fans, Dan got a major award for a Christmas gift this year. It provided much entertainment with laughs, people slowing down to look at it, and even a stranger stopping to ask where we got it.

We had a great Christmas Eve. Dan and my dad spent the day tearing up the upstairs bathroom for the renovation. Kati got to go to the movies with one of her best friends, Marilyn, and I spent a while at the Family Fun Center letting the boys play. Then we enjoyed a family movie at home, and Dan and I got to enjoy our candlelight steak dinner. It was perfect.

We had the most incredible ice storm. You can’t even begin to imagine the beauty that we are surrounded by right now. {As long as you aren’t having to drive on the roads.}

The base has opened up a new free Family Fun Center. The kids just love it. It has games, jumping castles, an obstacle course. If it has Wi-Fi we could spend every day there.

We had a fun Hackett family Christmas dinner early this year since mom {Grandma Cheryl} was working on Christmas this year. We had a blast and I got a lesson in geography. :)

I adore being able to look at the beautiful manger scene this time of year. This is the start of my collection of manger scenes.

Blake and Kati just love getting to play in the snow, and so they feel pretty lucky that we have a lot right now.

Tonight was the annual downtown Christmas Stroll. Our family loves to get to go listen to the wonderful holiday music, eat great food, and talk to friends.
